Domestic Matters

Infidelity

Trust is crucial in any relationship, knowing that your partner is committed to you and you alone. When that trust is broken, or you suspect that it is, what do you do? That little voice in your head is telling you that something isn't right, evasive answers to simple questions, staying out all night, guarding their phone, all of these things can be signs that your partner is cheating on you. Sure, not all relationships work out, but you deserve to know the truth right now, not to find out about it after it's been going on for weeks, months, or even years.

Hiring Midlands Private Investigations gives you back your peace of mind. An investigation will be started right away, you will provide basic information about your partner, and our experienced investigators will use that information to detail out their lives.  While you are at work or home with the kids, and your partner thinks no one is looking, we will be there to see where they go and who they are with. Are they on an innocent trip with their friends, or are they meeting their new lover at the hotel?  Are they traveling for business, or do they have a secret life you never knew about?

If your partner is telling the truth, there is an innocent explanation for their behavior, then you will know and can move on with your relationship.  Your partner never needs to know you felt the need to have them investigated, and we will never divulge that information.  However, if they are cheating and you decide you have had enough, that it is time to get out of the relationship and start over fresh, we can continue to provide assistance.  From divorce lawyers to filing police reports, if a crime has been committed, Midlands Private Investigations can assist you in navigating this troubling time in your personal life. You do not have to go it alone; we can help.

Intimate Partner Violence

The statistics behind Intimate Partner Violence, sometimes known as Domestic Violence, are frightening. More than 4 in 10  women and 1 in 4  men will be the victim of serious violence by an intimate partner in their lifetime.  This violence often occurs behind closed doors and can go on for years without ever being reported. Victims have many reasons not to come forward; from fear of continued violence, wanting to give their lover one more chance, or fear of leaving children behind.  This places them at risk for ever-escalating violence as they are stuck in a situation they don't know how to get out of.  Sadly this cycle all too often results in the death of the victim, with over 1,300 deaths due to Intimate Partner Violence every year in the United States alone.

If your loved one is being abused, the situation is even more difficult to address. Without the victim's cooperation, law enforcement and prosecutors are often reluctant to charge an abuser even when the situation is obvious.  No matter how much love and support you give, they refuse to face reality and won't go to the police no matter how much you beg and plead. Watching your family member being hurt day after day with no recourse is an impossible situation for any family.

While there are no simple answers to these problems, our investigators have decades of experience dealing with intimate partner violence. They can help you or your loved one escape from an abusive relationship. We can assist with a plan on how to leave the situation safely, counseling a reluctant family member to come forward or documenting the abuse for evidence-based prosecution. In all these situations, time is not on your side. If you or someone you love needs help, call today.

Child Custody Agreements

Divorce is a fact of life in modern society; between 40 and 50% of first-time marriages end in divorce, and with subsequent marriages, the rate only continues to rise.  As difficult as this is for the adults involved it is even more complicated for the children of those marriages. Who is going to have custody is often just as difficult to decide as who gets to keep the house or the car.  When parents can't agree, the arrangement is left up to the courts.  The judge will listen to both sides and come up with an agreement that they believe is in the best interest of the child, based on the information and evidence they have at their disposal. Unfortunatly that means an absentee parent with a good lawyer often ends up with primary custody over the primary caregiver. The child in question may become nothing more than a way for one partner to punish the other by limiting their access, or even worse, an abusive partner may win custody of a child, exposing them to harm behind closed doors.

By hiring Midlands Private Investigations, you ensure your best case for custody will be presented.  Everyone is parent of the year in the courtroom, but the truth can be documented by a skilled investigator. Are they leaving the child alone during their unsupervised visits? Do they bring questionable individuals around the child on their weekends? Do neighbors see the child wandering the neighborhood at all hours? Whatever the truth is, we will uncover it and document it professionally. We will also be available to testify in person to bring a first hand account to the judge of your former partner's behavior around your child.  It is easy to reject an accusation from a former spouse, not so easy to ignore it when it is documented with photos and eyewitness testimony from independent parties.
