Accused of a crime

If you have been arrested, indicted, or the subject of an investigation you know all too well the feeling of the whole of the criminal justice system bearing down on you. From the police to prosecutors, the government has almost unlimited resources to prove the case against you.  They often have a huge budget to bring in expert witnesses, conduct painstaking investigations, and produce copious amounts of discovery material, drowning you and your counsel in paperwork.

On your side you have you, your family, and your lawyer, that's it.  Even the best private attorney will only be able to draw on a fraction of the resources of the government.  That divide is even more pronounced if you are relying on a public defender to represent you. They are often new lawyers with extremely limited budgets, just trying to gain some experience before moving on to private practice.  If they have access to any kind of investigator at all, it will be shared among all the other attorneys in their office. Contrast this with the police officer or detective who can enlist other investigators in his or her office or entire investigative units to make the case against you seemingly air-tight.

By hiring Midlands Private Investigations, you will have an experienced investigator who can devote whatever time is necessary to disprove the case against you.  We will work with your attorney to refute the evidence and find the mistakes in the case made by the investigator.  Our background as police investigators gives us insight into the process used to build the case and the natural weak points in the process.  It is all too easy to get tunnel vision in a case and latch onto one subject in a rush to clear the case and bring a swift resolution.  The truth is not always found in the First 48 hours as portrayed on television and in the movies.  Let us help you clear your name and get back to your life. No one deserves to go to prison for a crime they did not commit.

Victim of a crime

Have you been the victim of a crime?  Did the police respond and promise to resolve the case quickly? It has been weeks, months, or years, and you still have no answers.  When you contact your assigned investigator, they either say the case remains open so they can't give you any information, or even worse, they admit your case is closed with no one arrested or even identified as the perpetrator.  Not only do you not get resolution to the initial crime, but with the criminal not arrested or prosecuted, the fear of them coming back and revictimizing you all over again never truly goes away.

By hiring a private investigator to look into your case you never have to worry about another case taking precedence over yours. We will work your case until you are satisfied with the outcome and the steps taken to find your answers.  We will work with the original investigator to obtain all the information they can disclose and will use the Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) to obtain the information from reluctant agencies.

Once we have all the information available we will carefully go through the reports and find what the initial investigation missed.  Then we will craft an investigative plan that takes the initial information and refines it, defining then narrowing the suspect pool until the criminal or criminals are identified. Once the investigation is completed, we will provide you with a written report including all evidence, statements, and supporting documentation.  This information can then be provided to the original investigator to effect an arrest or used in a civil suit if you wish to pursue justice in civil court.  No matter what path you choose you will be able to rest easy knowing every piece of evidence has been considered and every lead followed up on.
